One of my favorite inside activities to do with my son is cook. He loves helping and his curiosity brings new awareness to a habitual process. Sometimes kitchen experiments work and sometimes they don't (unfortunately this was the case today). The fun is always in the process of creation and discovery. The taste-testing is an experiment in and of itself...especially with a particular toddler. Get dirty inside. Throw the flour around. Let the mixture leave the bowl. Smell each ingrediant. Appreciate the process by slowing it down, letting go of precision, and trying something new.
