Backyard adventures

Some days are tough. Your tired (or someone else is tired), your sick (or your kid is sick), you have chores that don't seem to account for your better life agenda. It's on these days that the sweet sense of adventure needs to be stoked the most in order to find that balance in your crazy wonderful life. One tablespoon of wild at a time.

I was having one of those weeks (not days). I was craving adventure but also keenly aware that my options had limits due to the fact that I'm in my third trimester, with a toddler, and my partner is off on his own (much needed) mountain adventure. Therefore, instead of sulking I opted to enjoy a beautiful day outside in our backyard. The extra effort was worth every penny: organization, small ladder climbing, trip to the store for marshmallows, and a toddler's agenda...

Co had a nap today so I went back outside (monitor in hand) for some solo hang time with the baby belly, a tea, Outside Magazine, and my favourite hammock (@kammok)

Sometimes when you snack on marshmallows and stuff the whole thing in your mouth it's bad news. Mom's tea came to the rescue. Love how much this guy loves tea and the mug in his wee hands just melts my heart.

Backyard sticks. @biolite Stove, Vegan Marshmallows (Dandys), and a stool. Best pre-dinner event a boy could ask for.

Roasting song was the ABCs. It will be interesting to see how that one changes over time...

All this and we still had time for a nap, vacuuming, dishes, being goofy, and face timing daddy. It all seems to add new perspective to the phrase "go big or go home" - maybe both of those options are something to desire. Find your balance. I'm constantly working on mine.
