Trippers and Warriors

Sometimes adventures get condensed into a very short time frame. Today we had just over an hour...

Our picnic and hike turned into more of a snack and hang....but hey - we saw ducklings, frogs, goofed around in the hammock, and enjoyed family time outside. That's a win in my books! We are slowly figuring out the two kids thing (we are in the tough and exhausting stage at the moment). We have had to cancel our summer camping trips but hopefully our family changes will lead to more adventuring in the future (yay!). Plans change, life adjusts, the adventure shifts.

So... today I am officially declaring this the summer of day tripping and weekend warrioring. Our Annual Ontario Parks pass has been ordered and is in the mail. A few weekend trips will get booked asap (hoping there are some decent weekend camp sites left!). We may not have a week long adventure or a backcountry escape this year but we will certainly earn badges in parenting, patience, creativity, and small scale wild-ness (a tablespoon or two ;)

That smile of his lights me up every time. He is getting so big, and smart, and curious. I couldn't love him more.
