The Detour

It has been a little while since my last post. Life didn't pause. I wasn't too busy. I was on a detour from my "normal". We bought a house, sold our house, I started my maternity leave from work, and I gave birth to our son Milo. My detour has been lovely. It's definitely a new path; a bit bumpier to start, a little busier, and a lot more love. So far the adventure keeps getting sweeter (and a little crazier). I won't go back to the road I was on. I chose this and all its crazy. I'm excited to see where this takes us.

Today marks almost two weeks since Milo's arrival. We made it into the forest for the first time as a family of four. It was a short tour at a nearby trail but it was glorious nonetheless.

Easing back into my adventures will take some time, humour, patience, and likely a little help from my friends. A few camping trips have been cancelled and new adventures planned. Taking it slow and easy isn't really my pace. Looking forward to the memories made on adventuring with a newborn (and a toddler)...I'm sure tears, poop, belly laughs, and bug bites will all be documented in the posts to come ;)

I can do it. I can hold his hand and keep Milo close. I can play and mother. I can poop and breastfeed :) Motherhood is the most amazing REAL super power you can ever experience. I'm in awe of my body, my heart, my ability, my family.
